Those Voices

By AllwellJuly 23, 20262 min read

Time has passed And I have witnessed Love of man and wife Strong and healthy Face the flames of life And fade out entirely Not because it's lost Not because it's old Not because it's casual But those voices... Voices from the ones Known and respected Voice of those who once Cherished the love Voices of jealousy Voices of envy Voices of those who cheered in your presence The voice that once sang your love songs Those voices interested in material things Those voices of old relationships Those voices of random opinions Those voices that do not know the meaning of love Those voices... They seem so true and so clear They seem fair They seem to match the dot But do they? When there was love Where were they When there were sacrifices Where were they When there was blood, sweat, and tears Where were they When you were lonely Where were they And now they come with Concussions of their own truth Concussions that couldn't save their relationships Concussions that are medicines for depression and heartaches Concussions Life is free and sweet When you are content Life is fair to those Who sees the need to lay low Love flows like the air you take in What you breathe out Will be your choice to make Make the right one, I urge Love is your delight, not theirs
