Intoxicating

By AllwellJuly 27, 20261 min read

The beers, wine, and all liquors See as it runs true my veins See as it calls me so many names See as it drugs my intention So intoxicating It frees my spirit So much inspiration I can’t contend So tasty I need more and more and more Until it knocks me out Until I can talk to God Until I can see the unseen Before it dawns on me Never mind death it will come and go And I won’t even feel it Those who will cry will do their best But it won’t get me up and those that laugh too So let me have my wine The world is like a crystal ball Where diamonds reside It will only show selves When it feels at ease And refuse to take the world seriously So let me have my cheer, let me merry Just so when the world ends, I won’t be part of it
